From the beginning to the end, Mike and his staff member were so calm and kind. The front lobby was/is clean and quiet.
We normally board our dog at a vet clinic, but we planned a trip last minute during our daughter’s spring break and our boarding facility was booked. Fortunately, Mike had an opening for our almost 4 yr old pittie mix. I brought her in for an assessment and Mike and his staff member left a great impression – they were both so calm and warm. To our surprise, we received daily photos of our dog smiling as she played with the other dogs. We will definitely board our dog at Central Bark again as they were so accommodating with her boarding anxieties, meds and special diet. Thank you guys again for getting us in last minute and for the wonderful care.

A huge thank you to Central bark for a fantastic grooming experience! My dog, Ryder, looks and smells absolutely amazing. The online booking process was incredibly easy, and the staff is so friendly and caring. The absolute best part is how efficient they are – no waiting around for 6 hours like at other places. Very impressed with our first visit to Central Bark Aurora Fox Valley !! Mike, the owner, was very professional and nice to work with. The Groomer (I didn’t get her name) did a great job grooming my big Golden Doodle, Harley !! He was dropped off at 9 AM and picked up at noon. Perfect for my dog who is not thrilled with going to the groomer. The little picture of Harley was an added bonus! Thank you you , you have yourself a new customer !!
I’ve been taking my dog breezy (vizsla) not only for daycare but also training. Francesca is awesome at training and has breezy obeying and makes breezy use her brain both mentally and physically. I highly recommend her. Mike runs a tight ship and has one of the best daycare’s I’ve been to. To everyone who reads this you must check it out.
We brought our puppy Milo to the puppy hour they offer on Wednesdays and he fell in love with this place. We signed Milo up for training with Francesca and could not be happier with her training skills. She has a genuine love and understanding for dogs and is awesome at what she does. My wife and I both learned a lot from her and are so happy with what she taught us and our puppy Milo. This place is absolutely spotless, has everything you could imagine, and Mike along with his team couldn’t be more welcoming to the people and dogs that visit this facility. What’s a Behavior Assessment and why is it important?
As part of joining the Central Bark® family, our expert staff conducts a thorough behavior assessment at your local Central Bark store. These assessments help ensure that your dog is placed with a playgroup they’re comfortable with so they can play safely every day they’re with us.
This four-day evaluation, while your dog participates in our Enrichment Day Care, assesses your dog’s:
- Comfort and social skills with people
- Social skills and playstyle with other dogs to help determine the playgroup and play schedule they can benefit from the most
- Comfort in both indoor and outdoor play spaces
- Comfort in rest areas and a crate
- Ability to share resources like water and toys in social settings
- Level of comfort taking treats in social settings
This process gives us a chance to get to know you and your dog while your dog gets acquainted with their new favorite place away from home. Through the entire four days, your dog’s comfort and safety is our top priority.
Once your pup passes all the behavior assessment elements, you are welcome to sign up for any of our daycare services or a sleepover!

What is dog boarding?
Dog boarding gives your dog a safe and comfortable place to spend the night when they can’t be home overnight. It can last for just one night or for a week or more at a time.
At Central Bark®, we offer Sleepovers to dogs enrolled in our Enrichment Day Care Program. Sleepovers at Central Bark® provide your dog a calm, relaxing sleepover in a place they can feel comfortable and loved. Because they’re in a familiar place, they can feel less stressed about being away from home (and so will you). A full day of Doggy Day Care is included with your sleepover stay.
Our Stay-n-Play program (available at participating locations) offers boarding for dogs that have not enrolled in our day care program. Each overnight guest gets a restful night’s sleep, followed by a day of play, exercise, and plenty of TLC from our staff. Stay-n-Play guests sleep and play in their own designated areas.
Can I stay with my dog at the groomers?
You do not need to stay with your dog during their grooming appointment. Our expert groomers always aim to help your dog feel as calm and relaxed as possible during their bathing and grooming experience. If your pup is feeling a little unsure, ask our training team about ways to enrich their experience and help create positive associations by using positive reward-based training methods.
