Congratulations Berkley!

Meet Berkley! Berkley is an eight year old lab mix who has been attending Central Bark since July 2014. Besides his dashing good looks, Berkley has a lovely tenor howl and has, on occasion, lead the pack to an impromptu sing along with ambulances, firetrucks or police vehicles. Best of all, Berkley has a sweet soul and a gentle demeanor which makes him a crowd favorite at doggy day care.

Below are some highlights from his recent autobiography, entitled Howl I Met Your Mother :

  • Berkley was once a member of a boy band, and referred himself as the “bad boy” of the group. He then moved on and joined a heavy metal band but quit shortly thereafter when they kept referring him as “Bezerkley.”
  • He finally found his niche in life when he joined a Simon and Garfunkel tribute band. Berkley is so talented that he can either be Simon OR Garfunkel depending on the weather.
  • Berkley has an extensive collection of tweed jackets and turtleneck sweaters which are left over from his days as a literature professor at CLC.
  • He has been saving his allowance for months to go visit Berkeley CA. While there, he wants to join a protest on animal testing and tour some craft beer breweries.
  • Berkley’s guilty pleasure is the movie Showgirls. He has a huge crush on Elizabeth Berkley and is still upset that she did not win an Oscar for her award winning performance.
  • Berkley’s papa has a very impressive beard, and Berkley has been trying [unsuccessfully] to grow his since 2014. He gave $20 to the local schnauzer gang who promised him beard growth with their magic cream; which turned out to be Noxzema. Berkley and the schnauzers are no longer friends.
  • For Halloween this year Berkley is going to dress up as a Cheesy Gordita Crunch.

Congratulations Berkley! How appropriate that you are the HOWL-aween dog of the month!
