A Healthy, Balanced Day at Our Grayslake Dog Day Care
Our aim is to nurture their bodies, minds, and senses so that you can enjoy a healthy, happy, calm, and well-rounded dog at home.
- Play, Exercise, and Socialization: Exercise helps your dog maintain a healthy weight and strong muscles. It also boosts their mood and provides an outlet for their energy, resulting in a more relaxed demeanor at home. We offer both small and large playgroups in safe indoor and outdoor areas, tailored to your dog’s age, personality, and comfort level.
- Rest: Rest is essential for your dog’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. After play and socialization, they need time to rest, relax, and recharge. Our daily schedule prioritizes the right balance of rest, play, and learning, preventing overstimulation and promoting overall health.
- Learning: Dogs learn from humans and other dogs; our expert staff guides them through positive training techniques. They teach your dog safe play and encourage healthy social behaviors. At our Grayslake day care, dogs are constantly learning from each other, shaping their social skills and behavior.
- Love: Your dog becomes a part of our family, receiving all the love and attention they need while you’re away. We establish a bond with your dog to ensure their comfort and confidence. With regular attendance, we become familiar with their personality, needs, and preferences. This allows us to notice even subtle changes, such as moods, behaviors, or potential health concerns, that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Commitment to Safety
Your doggy’s safety and well-being are our top concerns. As fellow dog parents, we understand the importance of treating every dog as if they were our own. We are dedicated to creating a healthy and secure environment for everyone who visits our facility.

Frequently Asked Questions
Once you have enrolled, we will need a copy of your dog’s vaccination records, which you can upload to your online account or bring with you on your scheduled first day. We also ask that your dog comes in on a regular 6-foot flat leash (no retractable or flexi-leads in the lobby) and a quick-release collar. Not sure what a quick-release collar is? No problem! We’ll be happy to show you on your first day. If your dog usually wears a harness while walking, you’re welcome to bring that as well.
If your dog typically eats a midday meal, you can bring it in an airtight container clearly labeled with your dog’s first and last names.
Rest periods can be paired with fun and interactive food toys (like a frozen peanut butter Kong) to create a rest period enrichment activity for your dog.
Not only are rest period enrichments fun and mentally stimulating for your dog, but they also help build positive associations and crating skills. Hence, dogs are calmer, quieter, and more relaxed. For dogs, being comfortable in a crate is a life skill that is incredibly useful for them and their owners.
Did you know? Scientific studies have shown that licking and chewing behaviors (especially those that involve food rewards!) are self-soothing, decrease heart and respiratory rates, and even release dopamine in a dog’s brain.
Flexible playgroups allow us to match your dog with the social atmosphere and play schedule they can enjoy and benefit from most. This helps give them a healthy balance of play, rest, and learning and creates a safer social environment with a better quality of play. And our lower dog-to-staff ratios offer more individual attention, education, and love.
There’s no bond like the one between our furry best friends and us. We love our dogs and want to give them the best life possible. But it can be challenging to fulfill all their needs to stay healthy and happy for a lifetime. Doggy day care gives pups a place to play and learn in a safe environment, with the socialization, mental stimulation, and physical exercise their minds and bodies need to stay healthy for a lifetime.
- Dogs get to socialize. Dogs are social creatures. Positive experiences with new humans, new dogs, and new environments are essential to a well-rounded pup.
- Dogs learn social skills. Dogs learn from other dogs – they’re always teaching each other what is (and isn’t) appropriate social behavior. Doggy day care staff can also help support safe play and practice healthy social behaviors.
- Dogs get more exercise. Exercise helps your dog maintain a healthy weight and muscle tone while improving their mood and providing a healthy outlet for their physical and mental energy, meaning they can be more relaxed at home.
- Dogs get human attention. Your dog will get the care and love they need while you’re at work or school.
- Parents get a break. Doggy day care can give you a day off from responsibilities, while your dog gets what they need to be a healthier, more well-adjusted pet.
