Olivia

Olivia has been training dogs professionally for 4 years with a positive reinforcement-based approach. She began her training journey with Sawyer, a pug puppy, and a certification to teach through a chain pet store. Since joining the Central Bark family in 2018, she has obtained multiple certifications through AKC including Canine Good Citizen and Star Puppy as well as rescued Darryl, an 8-month-old hound from Tennessee. At Central Bark we offer 6-week group classes of various difficulties (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced), 1-hour private lessons, and new puppy seminars. Olivia recommends group classes for most puppies because of the socialization/distraction benefits and private lessons are great for dogs that need individualized time or have a short list of commands to work on. Puppy seminars are brief group lessons focused on common puppy problems such as teething, potty training, and crate training. Regardless of the class type, Olivia aims to bring a comfortable, safe, and fun training experience for you and your dog!

What is dog day care?

Dog day care gives dogs a fun place to play with their friends while their owners are busy at home and work.

At Central Bark®, doggy daycare is our specialty, and nobody does it quite like us. We don’t just give dogs a place to play. We create a personalized program of activities that optimize your dog’s whole health – their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

These methods set dogs up to succeed and reward them for performing desired behaviors. Rewards are tailored to the dog’s preferences and can include food treats, time to play with a favorite toy or verbal praise.

After decades of experience using reward-based training, we know it’s the most humane and effective way of training dogs and addressing unwanted behaviors. It’s the best way to build a loving, trusting bond that enhances your relationship between you and your dog for a lifetime of happiness together.

How long does dog training take?

The timeline for learning new behaviors and skills is as unique as every dog! Because each dog is an individual, with different learning histories, breed genetics, and preferences in reinforcers like treats and toys, there is no way to say for sure how long training will take. It’s also important to consider how much time each family has for daily training practice.

Whether you’re crate training, leash walking, or potty training your pup, consistency is key. It’s crucial to establish a routine, practice positive reinforcement, supervise your puppy (especially when potty training), and avoid punishing your puppy when mistakes happen.

Central Bark® offers everything you need to help you train your dog, with expert training and classes so you and your pup can learn and bond together.
