About Central Bark Oak Creek

In September 2024, Team LB LLC proudly took ownership of Central Bark Oak Creek, ushering in an exciting new chapter for our daycare. The LLC name Team LB stands for “Team Lady Black” – honoring the Black family: owner Koren, her daughter Winnefred, chosen family Marisa, and their beloved dogs – Macaroni, Cheese, Rosie, Pluto, and Ophelia.

Koren’s Journey: Koren has always dreamed of owning a dog daycare. With years of experience as a devoted client, she understands what creates a welcoming and enriching environment for dogs and their families. After a successful career in business intelligence and marketing, Koren seized the opportunity to turn her passion into reality when Central Bark Oak Creek became available.

Meet Winnefred: Winnefred, Koren’s daughter, is a talented junior high student who enjoys robotics and drone racing. While she’s not yet working directly with dogs, she contributes as an evening cleaner and occasionally helps at the front desk, where her enthusiasm and friendly smile brighten everyone’s day.

The Team LB Dogs: Macaroni the Bernedoodle, Cheese the Mini Schnauzer, and Rosie O’Donnell Sally Jessy Raphael the Victorian Bulldog, are the heart of Team LB. They inspire everything we do and remind us of the joy dogs bring to our lives.

Our Vision: Under Korens ownership, Central Bark Oak Creek is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and fun environment where every dog is treated like family. We look forward to continuing to create enriching experiences that support the well-being and happiness of every pup that walks through our doors!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to train a dog?

After decades of experience, we know that reward-based training is the most humane and effective way to train dogs and address unwanted behaviors. With reward-based training, you can build a loving, trusting bond that enhances your relationship with your dog for a lifetime of happiness.

Positive reward-based techniques help puppies and dogs develop essential life skills and behaviors that will enrich their lives at home and day care. These methods set dogs up to succeed and reward them for performing desired behaviors. Rewards are tailored to the dog’s preferences and include food treats, time to play with a favorite toy, or verbal praise.

How much does it cost to get a dog groomed?

All dogs are different, and like humans, your dog deserves grooming customized to their size, breed, and level of attention. For this reason, prices may vary by service and location.

How does Central Bark proactively address safety?

At Central Bark a proactive approach to safety is woven right into the fabric of our program. That is why we require that all dogs enrolled in our Day Care program pass our behavior assessment and attend at least once per week. This helps us ensure that dogs are social with other dogs & people and remain comfortable with all aspects of our program.  It also allows us to proactively staff so we can keep a dog to staff ratios low which also helps increase safety. Plus, play is ALWAYS monitored. Whether it’s a group of 2 dogs or 12 dogs, we never leave dogs unattended during group play.

How do you crate train a dog?

For dogs, being comfortable in a crate is a life skill that is incredibly useful for them and their owners. If you have ever traveled with your dog or had the unfortunate experience of an overnight stay at the vet, knowing your dog is comfortable in a crate is immeasurably comforting.

Crate training can take just days or a few months, based on your dog’s age, temperament, and past experiences with crates. The two keys to successful crate training are to keep the experience positive and go slowly.

When your puppy is not in their crate, keep the door open and reward them every time they choose to enter, even if you didn’t ask them to enter it. When crating your puppy, give them a safe enrichment item (like a stuffed Kong) that will keep them busy and allow them to self-soothe while confined. Remember that crate training should take place in a series of small, slow steps that will help your puppy become more comfortable.

Central Bark® offers everything you need to help you care for your new puppy. Our Enrichment Day Care gives puppies all the socialization, exercise, mental stimulation, and rest they need for a lifetime of happiness with you and your family.
