We are so excited to announce that our August Dog of the Month is Polly! Polly joined Central Bark back in 2012 when she was just a pup. When she started, she was beyond shy with humans, but we knew she was a special girl and wanted to help change her not so good perception of people. Coming to daycare once a week really helped Polly get into a routine, as well as, feel more comfortable seeing the same human faces each visit. The staff was very patient with Polly and let her come to them when she felt content enough to do so, even if it was just a little sniff, and she walked away. The staff would toss treats on the ground for her when they passed in order to help create a positive connection. Throughout her adventure of getting to know the staff, Polly has very much enjoyed the company for her four legged friends. Being in a pack of dogs helped her stay balanced and allowed her to enjoy just being a dog. Here at Central Bark, Polly’s playstyle and personality has made her known as a little spitfire. She is so quick on her feet and likes to get all of her friends pumped up! Her two besties are sisters Carly and Tula. Now, four years later Polly looks forward to daycare to see not only her furry friends, but her human friends as well! She still takes her time getting to know newer staff, but she adores our veteran staff members and even rolls over for belly rubs. She still is uncertain of folks outside of daycare, so to know that she feels so comfortable and safe at daycare is such a great reward for us! We also would like to tell Polly’s parents how wonderful they are too, as they provide such awesome care for Ms. Polly. They are so understanding of her needs and Polly wouldn’t be where she is today without them! Polly, we are so proud of you, and so happy to have you as part of the Central Bark pack!
Congrats Polly!
