Meet Scout and Rocket! These two have been coming to Central Bark for many years. They love meeting new puppies, socializing with their fellow furry friends and snoozing in the sun. Scout is a 7 ½ year old Heinz 57 mix and Rocket is a 3-year-old terrier mix. Scout likes to keep an eye on her younger brother, making sure he doesn’t get too flirty with the other girls. Below are some more fun facts for these two siblings (from another mother….and father):
- Scout is good at so many things she prefers to be called “The Talent Scout.” She once placed second at an origami contest.
- Rocket likes to tell folks he co-wrote Rocket Man with Elton John and that the song is in fact an ode to himself. He is known around town for singing the same two songs at every local karaoke venue in Grayslake; ‘Rocket Man’ and ‘Put a Ring On it’ by Beyoncé.
- Rocket’s favorite movie is Guardians of the Galaxy. He relates to the character of Rocket Racoon and has since tried befriending the trees in his backyard, hoping they would speak back to him like Groot. When they don’t speak, he pees on them.
- Scout loves to binge watch old episodes of Lost in Space. She is fascinated with the solar system and has pictures of planets taped on her bedroom ceiling.
- One time Scout and Rocket took off in their dad’s VW van with the intention of driving to Washington DC to protest the war (they didn’t know which war). They got as far as CLC before being pulled over and were grounded for two weeks.
- Rocket is taking a pottery class. For his final project he sculpted a statue of Dick Clark out of cheese which Scout wound up eating the night before class. This “misunderstanding” resulted in Rocket getting a C in the class.
- Scout and Rocket started a Carpenters tribute band. They have most of their summer weekends booked; playing at birthday parties, bar mitzvahs and a couple weddings. To book them for future events please call their dad’s cell at 847.555.ROCK.
