Meet the “Dynamic Duo”…Maddie and Maxine!!! Maddie is an eight year old lab mix who has been a long time attendee… since February 2007! Her sister, Maxine, was one of our first foster dogs. We did not know Maxine’s background other than she was found loose. As a result, she was on her own for a very long time and had many “feral” characteristics about her, most noticeably fear. Young Momma Sarah took a leap of faith and adopted Maxine into her home (with Maddie’s approval, of course). With a lot of love and patience, and a great big sister, Maxine has flourished in their home. We love these gals so much and are blessed to have them part of our pack. Below are some more fun tidbits on these two:
- Maddie and Maxine’s favorite song is Ebony and Ivory (we couldn’t resist).
- They enjoy watching old reruns of the Odd Couple. Maddie is definitely Walter Mathou.
- Maxine has become a social butterfly, while Maddie prefers to keep just a few close friends.
- Their favorite sport is Double’s Tennis. They would consider themselves the Venus and Serena of the dog world.
- They sometimes refer to themselves as “Ying & Yang.”
- Maddie likes older Michael Jackson while Maxine prefers the later version. However, they both love the song “Black or White.”
- Their favorite movie is “Twins” with Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- When performing karaoke, they will always choose a Salt n Pepa rap song.
- They recently published an online magazine called “Madzine” to review everything gingerbread; from cookies to professional gingerbread house building competitions across the globe.
