HFAR Volunteer Spotlight: Central Bark Danbury Owner Carol Martin

We’re proud to kick off 2026 by recognizing Carol Martin, owner of Central Bark Danbury, as Volunteer of the Month for her commitment to dogs and the local rescue community.

In December 2025, Carol welcomed Happily Furever After Rescue to the open house of her new Central Bark Danbury location at 55 Kenosia Avenue in Danbury, CT. Central Bark Danbury offers enrichment-focused dog daycare, overnight boarding, professional grooming, and pet retail, with training classes coming soon. Every detail of the facility was designed with dogs’ health, happiness, and well-being in mind.

Following the open house, Carol reached out to partner with Happily Furever After Rescue, fulfilling a long-time goal of fostering a dog in need. That partnership led to Tripp, a one-year-old pitbull mix, becoming Central Bark Danbury’s first foster dog.

In just five weeks, Tripp has learned basic manners, built trust with people, and developed healthy play skills with other dogs. Carol shared, “Our entire team is caring for Tripp as one of our own every day, and watching his growth has been incredibly rewarding.”

Carol and her team are grateful for the guidance and support from Jaclyn and the Happily Furever After Rescue team, and they look forward to continuing their fostering journey.

We’re incredibly thankful to Carol Martin and the Central Bark Danbury team for making a meaningful impact on dogs’ lives and strengthening the Danbury dog community.
