Congrats, Milo!

MAY 2015 DOG OF THE MONTH

Our May Dog of the Month is MILO! Milo is a mystery dog…meaning we are not sure of his ancestry. He appears to be a Black Lab/German Short-Hair Pointer mix, although he is smaller and slighter than a regular Lab. Milo is also a bit shy and reserved, which is definitely not true of a Lab. Milo does get a bit excited when he arrives at Central Bark because he knows he is in for a good time with his good friends. He might whine and pull on his leash to get in quicker! Then the same thing happens when it is time to go home; after an exhausting day of play, he whines and pulls to see who is picking him up, Frank, Dominic, and/or Jeanne.
Milo’s family adopted him from the Cleveland Animal Protective League. His first day at Central Bark was November 20, 2013. Milo was a bit nervous and shy and really didn’t know how to play. Within minutes he fit right into the whole “party routine!” He is so versatile that he can be wild and crazy with the big dogs, or mellow and easy with the senior gang.
He is a lucky dog because his new “family” has given him a new best friend. That would be Dominic, an extremely handsome 11-year old “brother.” Dominic always has Milo’s belongings well organized for his sleepovers at Central Bark. Dominic clearly marks his items with Milo’s name and includes daily feeding instructions that are carefully written. Dominic plays on a basketball team and his dad, Frank, is his coach. Dominic won his District’s Free Throw competition, making it to the Regional. This is a busy family because mom, Jeanne, owns a day spa and salon in Brecksville.
Milo does look more like the Pointer than the Lab. Pointers are known for being the companions to hunters, tracking and retrieving birds and small game that the hunters acquire. This breed is a strong utility dog with clean lines, good looks and sound temperament. All words that describe Milo perfectly. This breed thrives as part of an active family and they are intelligent, loving and loyal. Milo is all of this and more.
When you see Milo, Dominic, Frank, or Jeanne, be sure to offer your congratulations on Milo, the May Dog of the Month!
