OUR BLUE DOG OF THE MONTH No, he isn’t sad! That’s his name, Blue, our June Dog of the Month. Blue is part Beagle and part Bull Dog, so we guess you could call him a “BullBee” or “Bugle” or some such designer dog name. Our Blue began his visits to Central Bark as a puppy, where he graduated at the top of his Puppy 1 class. (Those BullBees are so clever…) He worked hard, did his homework and rightfully earned his S.T.A.R. puppy medal. His “mom” is Crystal and she’s a lawyer so that is probably why Blue worked so hard – to be like her! In the picture, you will notice that Blue is the dog in the middle, always at the center of everything. Here he is surrounded by his close friends, Hunter, Oliver, Cali, Gracie and Noce. Puppy photos of Blue are adorable and are available on our PHOTO GALLERY starting January 19, 2012. Blue’s favorite thing is food (who’s isn’t?). He also loves to play with everybody and anybody! Most everyone knows that a Beagle is a sturdy hunting dog with a merry personality. This has made the Beagle one of the most popular dogs in the United States according to AKC® Registration Statistics. The most famous Beagle of all is Snoopy from the comic strip "Peanuts." Now, for that Bulldog part of Blue. The Bulldog is known for their loose-jointed, shuffling gait and massive, short-faced head. This breed is known to be equable, resolute and dignified. A medium-sized dog, they are not your typical lap dog, but would like to be! They are one of the most popular breeds according to AKC® Registration Statistics due to their lovable and gentle dispositions and adorable wrinkles. Combine these two breeds and you have Blue, who has the best traits of both these breeds, lovable, gentle, playful – and smart. As for the smart part, we are back to Crystal, his “mom.” She graduated from law school magna cum laude. Crystal is a member of the American, Ohio, and Cleveland-Metropolitan Bar Associations, and the Defense Research Institute. She is also listed as a 2011 "Rising Star" in Ohio "Super Lawyers". Blue and Crystal are surely a dynamic duo and an awesome twosome. Congratulate them both when you see them!
