CELEBRATING THE FIFTH!
Five years ago in February, Central Bark opened its doors in Broadview Heights. We have come a long way since then. One dog in particular stands out in our minds as he came to daycare on our very first day and is still here after five years. (He does go home in the evening!) He comes every Wednesday…and in five years, he has never missed a single Wednesday! Some people call Wednesday, “Hump Day.” We call it Blitz Day. We want to highlight Blitz, who might be our good luck charm, and who is without doubt, a loyal Central Bark supporter.
Blitz is a Border Collie mix. Border Collies are known as the “workaholics” of the dog world. Blitz fits that description, for sure. At home, chasing vermin in the woodpile is one of his favorite activities. That “workaholic” nickname explains his tenacity at hunting down the pests in his yard. Border Collies are the world’s premier sheepherder, prized for its intelligence, extraordinary instinct and working ability. Medium-sized and athletic, the breed controls stock with stalking movement and an intense gaze known as “eye.” The Border Collie coat can be rough or smooth and includes any color in bi-color, tri-color, merle, sable, or solid patterns.
At Central Bark, Blitz works off his energy on the slide and by playing with the smaller dogs. He has a gentle side and the little pooches love him. Blitz is treasured by Anna and Rich, his human parents. Anna brought Blitz to several of our training classes and of course, he excelled in all of them. Anna is a gardener and loves to work out, and Blitz is right there beside her.
We thank Blitz for being our good luck charm and for brightening every Wednesday with his presence here for the past five years. We want to thank all of you for your confidence, for trusting us with your beloved companions, and for making these past years fly by in a heartbeat. We wouldn’t be here without you!
