At Central Bark, our mission is to nurture and enrich dogs’ lives. Positive experiences with new dogs, humans, and environments is a critical part of a puppy’s healthy social development. These early experiences help your dog develop comfort and confidence and positively affect their lifelong emotional development, building a strong foundation for a healthy, happy, and socially appropriate dog.
Puppy Hour is a free play and social hour for puppies held in our safe and supervised Central Bark environment. We invite you and your puppy to attend as many sessions as you would like until your pup reaches the age limit. Proof from your vet that your puppy is up to date on their Bordetella and DHPP vaccines is required.

The facility and the staff were absolutely amazing for our two Great Dane boys. They would match the play group with their personality and activity, which they would come home tired and happy from a fun day. They also loved every staff member and were always happy to see them when they arrive!
One of our pups had surgery and couldn’t stay home after the first couple weeks due to our work, but their “Day and Play” program is exceptional for needing to be away from other dogs until medically cleared. Despite being alone, he had a buddy throughout the day for low-level play time and enrichment to keep him busy.
We highly recommend taking your dogs to Central Bark in Atlanta! We honestly wish we could’ve picked them up and take them with us to our new home destination. Even if your dog can’t be with other dogs for some reason, they will not be bored! We miss them dearly!
The daily report cards showed how much the staff genuinely loves and cares for every pet. Our doggos were showered with care and cuddles. Highly recommend!
Frequently Asked Questions
The timeline for learning new behaviors and skills is as unique as every dog! Because each dog is an individual, with different learning histories, breed genetics, and preferences in reinforcers like treats and toys, there is no way to say for sure how long training will take. It’s also important to consider how much time each family has for daily training practice.
Whether you’re crate training, leash walking, or potty training your pup, consistency is key. It’s crucial to establish a routine, practice positive reinforcement, supervise your puppy (especially when potty training), and avoid punishing your puppy when mistakes happen.
Central Bark® offers everything you need to help you train your dog, with expert training and classes so you and your pup can learn and bond together.

You do not need to stay with your dog during their grooming appointment. Our expert groomers always aim to help your dog feel as calm and relaxed as possible during their bathing and grooming experience. If your pup is feeling a little unsure, ask our training team about ways to enrich their experience and help create positive associations by using positive reward-based training methods.

An essential characteristic of a dog groomer is someone who makes you and your dog feel safe and comfortable.
Other things to look for:
- Certifications – Groomers don’t need a license or certification to work. Still, these accreditations are often signs that the groomer has the necessary training and experience to care for your pup.
- Experience with different breeds – Look for a groomer with experience with a variety of breeds and coats and the standard haircut for your dog’s breed.
- Preparedness – A groomer should work with dogs of all ages and levels of experience with grooming. They should aim to help each dog feel as comfortable as possible with the grooming process. Suppose the dog or puppy becomes anxious or uncomfortable. In that case, the groomer should be able to suggest a plan for increasing their comfort over time with the use of a positive reward-based approach.
