Meet The Pack Leaders!

Holly Valenti

Owner

As a Hotelier by trade and dog lover by choice, I have combined my 13 years experience with my passion. Doggy Day Care was a natural choice for me and for New Orleans because of the lack of canine awareness in the area. As a New Orleans native, I am excited to bring a business I have also longed for to you. Now instead of 2 legs, my hotel guests will have 4! What more could a girl ask for? So, stop by and meet my baby, I am excited to meet yours.

Meet Our Trainer!

Gabby

Gabby

Trainer

Welcome Gabby! Like many of the employees at Central Bark, Gabby has a passion for animals and has been working with and studying animals for much of her life. Originally from southern New Hampshire, Gabby recently moved down to southern Louisiana to assist with the oil spill recovery. Her undergraduate degree is in the biology & psychology of animals and her masters degree is in zoology. Gabby's course work includes animal learning, animal cognition, animal physiology, mammalogy, animal behavior, and Ken Ramirez’s Animal Training Course at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Her research focus is marine mammalogy. At Contented Canines in Moline, IL, Gabby helped many dog owners train their dogs and address behavior issues at home. She has also used clicker training to work with abused and neglected horses at Live and Let Live Farm in Chichester, NH. In her free time, Gabby volunteers at the Audubon Aquarium and Zoo. Here is a message from Gabby....Central Bark and I look forward to teaming up together to offer innovative dog training courses using positive reinforcement dog training concepts. A positive reinforcement approach is highly conducive to learning and retention of learned material for all species of animals. A reward-based method creates a confident, happy, eager-to-learn dog and a harmonious home life. Punishment-based techniques can create unwanted side effects such as fear, distrust, and an overall withdrawn dog. I look forward to meeting all of you and facilitating communication between you and your dog.
