Owner

Peggy has been "all about dogs" her entire life. She grew up with a small pack, ranging in sizes from a Toy Poodle to a Saint Bernard. With a childhood filled with loving animals, it was logical that Peggy chose to focus on their health and well being by getting her BS degree in Animal Science from Purdue University and a MBA from Loyola University.

Her career choices concentrated on the importance of nutrition, fitness, and happiness of dogs. Her experiences in the pet food and animal health industry allowed her to acquire an inside look into the design, manufacturing, and marketing of pet foods.

Peggy's personal life has focused on the relationship she has with her dogs, and various ways to interact and work together. She is passionate about obedience training, competition, behavior modification and loves to take her Border Collies herding.

Peggy's career goals are now centered exclusively on dogs and their need for a fun place to be if parents busy lives cause them to be away from their beloved companions during the day. That place is dog day care as provided by Central Bark®!

Peggy is pictured with Phoebe, Jackson, Zasu and Joey. Not pictured is her equally adorable husband, Bruce.

Dog of the Month!

Congrats, Levi!

JUNE’S DOG OF THE MONTH IS LEVI THE MIGHTY Levi, a Cavachon is our fun-loving, sociable, party guy, Dog of the Month! His “mom” is Sharon who is crazy about Levi. Sharon has the perfect job for someone with a pet. She works three days a week so Levi gets to come to Central Bark on those days, for good times and lots of action with his buddies. Then he gets a four-day weekend with doting Sharon. It doesn’t get any better than that! “What is a Cavachon?” you may ask! The answer is, a great combination of two breeds, a Bichon Frise and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. A Bichon is a small and sturdy dog with a double curly coat. The coat is white, but sometimes has shadings of other colors. He is a naturally gentle and lighthearted dog. That is Levi through and through. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is known to look elegant and be energetic. This breed also has a sweet and calm nature. This breed is named for King Charles II of Britain and he has been recorded in paintings and tapestries for centuries. Surrounded by wealthy, aristocratic families, the Cavalier was considered a luxury and lived a luxurious life as a house pet. Put these two breeds together and you have our Levi. Obviously, Levi is channeling his ancestors as he has adapted quite well to his surroundings and life with Sharon and certainly expects to be pampered. Levi excelled in Puppy Class. It could be due to his intelligence or because of Sharon’s devotion and patience. He has moved on to earn his Amerian Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Title and has just started an introductory class for advanced obedience. Perhaps his reward for a job well done had something to do with his class performance. He does LOVE food and will do anything for a cookie. Other characteristics that define Levi include, friendly, non-aggressive, and not shy. Sharon thinks Levi would make the perfect Therapy dog, we wholeheartedly agree! As you can see from Levi’s picture (he is the white dog), he really knows how to party, he just doesn’t know when to stop! So, when you see Levi and Sharon, please congratulate them on being June’s Dog of the Month.
