From Corporate America to Dog Day Care Owner – Trevor Heurion
After a successful career in corporate America as an IT Security Architect, Trevor realized the work no longer sparked the same excitement it once did. Inspired by the joy and well-being he saw in his own two rescue dogs, Porter and Stout, and the benefits of canine socialization, he decided it was time for a new chapter—one centered around dogs.
As a customer of the Oak Creek Central Bark, Trevor had experienced firsthand the brand’s unwavering commitment to safety and high-quality care. When the opportunity arose, staying with the Central Bark family felt like a natural fit. In April 2025, he purchased the Sussex location, bringing his passion for dogs, dedication to safe enrichment, and desire to make a meaningful impact on the canine community together under one roof.

General Manager
Autumn joined Central Bark Sussex in 2018 and has been part of the pack ever since. After holding several roles over the years, she now serves as the General Manager. Her familiarity and love of the dogs, previous management experience, and engagement with the customers makes her a perfect fit for the role and we’re happy to have her lead our team!

Peter, the manager, is awesome to work with. He’s super accommodating and always finds a way to get my dogs scheduled. We’ve got them on a routine now which makes everything really easy.
Alyssa does a phenomenal job with both of my dogs, a Labradoodle and an Australian Shepherd. My Aussie can be pretty anxious,, so I was a little worried at first, but they’ve handled him incredibly well. They’re patient, know what they’re doing, and you can tell they actually care about the dogs.
I’ve never had a bad experience here. The whole team is great and always quick to respond if I have any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
For dogs attending day care, a midday meal is generally not necessary or recommended. Dogs receive treats and Rest Period Enrichments throughout the day at no additional charge. However, if your dog needs to follow a specific feeding schedule, such as eating three meals a day, our team can accommodate those needs. For boarding stays, dogs are fed according to the instructions provided by their pet parents. Be sure to share any feeding requirements, allergies, medications, or other special care needs with your local Central Bark team.
Training Tutor sessions can help dogs practice practical life skills and behaviors based on their individual needs. These may include cues such as sit, stay, down, wait, and leave it, along with skills such as calm door and gate behavior, name recall, and loose-leash walking. Your Central Bark team can help identify appropriate goals for your dog.
Look for a dog groomer who helps you and your dog feel safe and comfortable, has experience with different breeds and coat types, communicates clearly about your dog’s needs, and uses a patient approach to the grooming process. A good groomer should also be prepared to work with dogs at different ages and comfort levels and discuss a plan when a dog is anxious or uncomfortable.
Day care can be a good experience for many different dogs, but the right approach depends on the individual. Central Bark considers factors such as personality, confidence, age, energy level, play style, and comfort in different experiences. Our enrollment and assessment process helps the team determine whether day care is appropriate and how to set each dog up for success.
