Meet the Owner Dan!!

Dan Glad, owner of Central Bark Paradise Valley, is a lifelong dog lover who has called Phoenix/Scottsdale/Paradise Valley home since 2011. A University of Arizona grad, he shares life with his pup Butch, a quirky Pug-Staffy-Bulldog mix who helps monitor playgroups. Dan joined Central Bark in 2023, drawn by its commitment to safety, enrichment, and fun. He’s proud to lead a team that puts dogs first and is excited to serve the Paradise Valley/Scottsdale/Phoenix community every day.

Meet Ashley – Professional Dog Groomer 🐾✂️

Ashley is a passionate dog groomer with over 10 years of experience 🐶. Specializing in all breeds, she has a soft spot for Pomeranians. Dedicated to calm, comfortable grooming, she keeps up with the latest techniques . After moving from Illinois to Arizona 🌵☀️, Ashley enjoys hiking and paddleboarding with her dogs and spending time with her cat. When not grooming, she’s reading or gaming. For Ashley, grooming is about care, trust, and helping dogs feel their best

Meet Allay, one of our Enrichment Specialists from Scottsdale, AZ! 🐾

Her passion for animals started early—volunteering with cats at just 13 and fostering dogs by 15! She now shares her home with two birds and a beautiful aquarium, living proof of her love for all creatures great and small. 🐶🐱🦜🌿

Allay finds true joy in caring for animals and is deeply dedicated to their well-being. Her favorite breeds? Loyal German Shepherds and affectionate orange tabby cats! 🧡🐕🐈‍⬛

Meet Bridget, our passionate Enrichment Specialist at Central Bark! 🐶🌟

A business student at Arizona State University and proud owner of three rescue dogs, Otis, Banjo, and Dory, she values the individuality of each pet.

Originally from Wisconsin, Bridget’s love for animals has been her lifelong journey. Passionate about building meaningful bonds between pets and owners, she’s dedicated to providing the best care possible. Come say hi and discover how her love for dogs enhances your pet’s experience!

Meet Hailey, one of our dedicated enrichment specialists!

🌟 Born and raised in Phoenix, Hailey has always had a deep love for animals, having grown up surrounded by them. Her passion lies not only in caring for these loyal and loving companions 🐾 but also in learning from them, appreciating the unique personalities, instincts, and lessons they offer. At home, she shares life with her German Shepherd, MJ, who’s more than just a pet, he’s her best friend and a daily reminder of the powerful bond between humans and animals ❤️.

Meet Zach, one of our dedicated Enrichment specialist!

Zach, an Arizona native, has over three years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds. He loves working with playful, goofy pups that bring joy and laughter each day. At Central Bark, Zach’s calm, friendly energy creates a safe, fun environment for dogs to enjoy during playgroups. Outside work, he enjoys hiking, swimming, and board games with friends, always staying active and connected with both people and pups.

Meet our Assistant Manager, Lyric!

Lyric, a lifelong dog lover, has been surrounded by dogs since childhood, making animal care her true calling. With two years of professional experience, she’s dedicated to providing the highest level of care, love, and attention to every dog she meets. Whether through training, walks, or enrichment, Lyric focuses on building genuine connections and ensuring each dog feels safe, happy, and understood. She’s committed to continuing this rewarding journey for many years to come.

Meet Butch – Enrichment Specialist Assistant

Butch has been a proud member of Central Bark since January 2025, starting with construction walkthroughs, treat quality control, and stress-testing play equipment to meet his high standards. Now serving as the Enrichment Specialist Assistant, Butch helps supervise playgroups, ensuring every dog has a safe, fun time. Whether greeting guests, demonstrating play techniques, or simply being his lovable self, Butch is a vital and cherished member of the Central Bark family!

Meet Zydrate – Ashley’s Right-Paw Pup

Zydrate has been Ashley’s loyal grooming assistant since day one, bringing calm and positivity to each session (with the occasional nap). His soulful stares and dramatic sighs offer moral support while ensuring every pet leaves looking fabulous. With his gentle spirit and snuggle skills, Zydrate’s a beloved member of the team, adored by clients. I took my dog Navy to Central Bark to give her time to socialize, get out some energy and make new friends! She came back so happy and fulfilled from her day of play; I don’t think she’s ever slept better than that night! 😂 Not only did she love it but I was able to have a day of errands and catching up around the house while being reassured my pup was having the best time. We’ll continue to come every week because of their attention to the pups, the pictures they send us throughout the day and overall how much they care about what they’re doing. We LOVE Central Bark!!! Couldn’t be more grateful to have found this place when it was opening! Our rescue pup, Wally, attended the very first “Puppy Hour” over the summer and has been enjoying all of his experiences there ever since! Wally began life as a stray and, despite how adorable and friendly he’s always been, he was definitely missing those early socialization skills. It didn’t take much time for Wally to learn those important puppy social skills, thanks to Central Bark! Between puppy hour and beginning daycare a couple days a week at 4 months old, Wally now knows how to meet other dogs and play appropriately. He has SO much fun playing with the other pups and loves all the love and attention he gets from the humans! It’s a great feeling when you drop your dog at daycare when you have to go to work and he pulls you inside because he’s just sooo excited to get in there!!! 🙂 And if pulling on that leash is a concern at any other times, they have great trainers!!! They always offer great advice and can answer any training questions. Wally has become so well behaved at 5 months old and we owe so much of that to Central Bark. All of the staff at Central Bark have been wonderful – we know they truly adore Wally and he can definitely feel that! Dan has been so kind and helpful from the very start and really makes everyone feel like family. His dog Butch is an awesome playmate for Wally! Ashley gave Wally his amazing first groom and we don’t have to worry that he’ll be afraid of being groomed going forward. Big shout out to Allay and Bridget who have been SO sweet during Wally’s daycare experiences, letting us know how much they love him and we definitely see how much he loves them back! 🙂 We love seeing his report card and how much fun he’s having over there when we can’t be with him. We are yet to board Wally overnight but plan to soon and have zero doubts that he’ll be comfortable, super happy and in the best of hands! THANK YOU, Central Bark- we are so grateful for you all!!! 🙂

I can’t say enough good things about Central bark at Paradise Valley! I first went in for the free puppy hour on the weekend, and my dog Moose absolutely loves it there. The staff is amazing at working with your dog and making sure that they get the best care possible. 10/10 will be doing the doggy day care with them!

I recently took my dog to Central Bark in Paradise Valley for grooming and was very impressed with the whole experience. The staff was warm, welcoming, and thorough in explaining the services available and what they recommended specifically for my dog. They were extremely gracious and clearly cared about making my pup feel comfortable, especially after learning she gets a little anxious with the grooming experience. The groomer did an excellent job — my dog came out looking fresh, clean and happy! I really appreciated the attention to detail and the calm, friendly environment. It’s clear they love what they do, and it shows in the quality of their service. I found their pricing to be very reasonable compared to others in the area and the personalized experience went above and beyond my expectations. I’ll definitely be bringing my dog, Madison back for grooming and play time and would highly recommend Central Bark to other pet owners in the area!

It’s very hard to leave your fur baby in someone else’s hands. When I first started taking Alfie to central bark he was not into playing and socializing with the other dogs. They told me that Alfie just needed more time to adjust and they thought with his personality that he would come around. He has been going for a few months and he absolutely LOVES it there. He gets very excited and runs to the door when we arrive and that just confirms that he is at a great place. The owner and the handlers are very welcoming. They never fail to send updates of him and each picture is better than the last. I am so appreciative for the love that Alfie receives here and I definitely recommend.

Can I join my dog in the training sessions?

While the Training Tutor, One-on-One Enrichment, and Rest Period Enrichment services are provided by our staff during your dog’s day care visit, Central Bark Fort Lauderdale also partners with Sue of We Love Dogs! to host group training classes. These classes are designed to help you and your dog refine skills together in a supportive environment. You can call the provided number to learn more about class schedules.

How does Central Bark proactively address safety?

At Central Bark a proactive approach to safety is woven right into the fabric of our program. That is why we require that all dogs enrolled in our Day Care program pass our behavior assessment and attend at least once per week. This helps us ensure that dogs are social with other dogs & people and remain comfortable with all aspects of our program. It also allows us to proactively staff so we can keep a dog to staff ratios low which also helps increase safety. Plus, play is ALWAYS monitored. Whether it’s a group of 2 dogs or 12 dogs, we never leave dogs unattended during group play.

What does dog grooming include?

Your dog deserves to be pampered. Our full-service dog grooming salon is fully equipped to include anything from a simple brush-out or bath to a full spa day, a grooming session.

All dogs are unique. Just like humans, your dog deserves personalized grooming for their size, breed, coat type, and condition. Please ask an associate for details.

What is Stay-n-Play?

Our Stay-n-Play program offers boarding for dogs that have not enrolled in our day care program. Each overnight guest gets a restful night’s sleep, followed by a day of play, exercise, and plenty of TLC from our staff. Stay-n-Play guests sleep and play in their own designated areas.
