January Dog of The Month

Ring in the New Year with Bailey, our January Dog of the Month! Bailey is a fun-loving Yellow Labrador Retriever. She’s four-years old and has been playing at Central Bark since she was little. She is very attached to the team. When the groups come inside, Bailey always hangs back until the human playgroup leader is ready. Then she happily walks inside with the leader.

While Bailey is a healthy weight, it’s a good opportunity to again mention dog obesity since Labs are particularly prone to overeating. It’s literally in their genes! A 2016 study showed most Labs are missing at least part of the POMC gene which plays a role in appetite regulation. A 14-year study on Labs showed lean Labs averaged an extra two years of life.

We call her Bailey. We call her Bay. We call her Bay Bay. Please call Bailey our January Dog of The Month!
