Our September Dog of the Month is Tayder! Just look at that sweet face – If Tayder was your pooch, she would be Dog for Life, not just Dog of the Month. What’s not to love here? Tayder is a rescue and her “parents” are Deb and Mark. When they brought Tayder home, she was covered in fleas, was extremely thin, and was plagued with stomach problems. No matter what treats or good food she was offered, that tummy couldn’t handle it. This beloved dog had obviously come through some tough times, as she was afraid of everything, including her own shadow. Come near her and she would bark, tremble, and cringe. It took Deb a lot of time and much effort to nurse Tayder into a physically and mentally happy dog. Look at her now, it was all worth it! Because Deb toiled at trying all types of dog food, Tayder has also overcome most of her stomach issues. It is devotion and hard work that has changed Tayder’s life forever. Tayder’s ancestry is unknown. She is definitely a mixed breed. This means she has the characteristics of two or more types of breeds. Tayder appears to have characteristics of several breeds. A mixed-breed may be a crossbreed dog, a random-bred dog, or a descendant of feral or pariah dog populations. "Random-bred" is a genetic term meaning an animal, population, or breed that was bred or developed without planned intervention of humans and whose ancestry and genetic makeup is generally not known. You can clearly see terrier in her face and perhaps some Airedale. Her coat is coarse and wiry and is the color of some Airedales. Like many terriers, she loves the water, too. She is particularly fond of our swimming pool here at Central Bark. Tayder is here playing with her friends every single day. There is no sign of that frightened, abandoned dog she once was. Mom Deb brought her for classes here and she has lost most of her fears from that previous existence. Tayder is also groomed here, so this place means a lot to her. Tader’s favorite thing to do is to camp and fish with Deb and Mark. She loves riding in the boat. The three of them love to fish and camp and Tayder is a most willing participant. There is a special place in Heaven for people who rescue a dog. Tayder knows that! Congratulate Deb and Mark, and Tayder, who has come a long, long, way and is now our September Dog of the Month!
Congrats, Tayder!
