Happy New Year! January Dog of the Month! What better way to welcome in the New Year than by also welcoming our January Dog of the Month, Miss Sadie Mae! (Short for Sadie Mayhem) Sadie Mae is a charming, mischievous, active, sweet, messy, elegant. Airedale Terrier! The Airedale is known as the "King of Terriers" but in this case, we would say QUEEN! Sadie, like most terriers, does require obedience training. The Airedale is a quick learner and loves to be challenged. Sadie is interested in everything. She is also "into" everything – because she will pull anything and everything out of your purse, pockets, bags, etc. If it is summer and you are wearing shorts, she will nuzzle up your pant leg and attack your pocket from the inside to get what she wants! Clever girl. Airedales have a hard, dense and wiry coat so that is why Sadie sometimes looks a little fuzzy and wild! But after a grooming, this lovely lady is trimmed, refined-looking, and quite elegant! Sadie is the first Dog of the Month for 2011. Congratulations, Sadie.
