Congrats, Murphy

Happy New Year, January Dog of the Month! Hooray for people who rescue a dog! For their good deed, they get a beloved friend who will devote his (her) life to thanking them in so many ways. That’s what Carri and Jeff found after adopting Murphy, our January Dog of the Month. Murphy is the mocha-brown dog on the left. His exact breed – or mix of breeds – is unknown. He does appear to have some Labradoodle in him. He was found at the Northeast Ohio SPCA. (Murphy is talking with Nala the Great Dane and Cooper the Goldendoodle.) Probably because of his previous life, Murphy was very shy and a “worrier” when they brought him to his forever home. Because he found loving “parents,” he learned confidence and the training skills to make him a wonderful companion. At first, Carri had to work at simple things, like having Murphy allow her to brush him. Jeff focused his time and efforts on other schooling. Time and love turned Murphy around. Murphy recently earned his Canine Good Citizen Certification at Central Bark. Murphy has many friends at Central Bark. He monitors the Play Group and alerts them with a big bark when any person – or truck – approaches. He really likes the UPS driver…probably because the gentleman’s uniform is the same color as he is! Murphy is a happy, well-adjusted dog that loves to play all day. In other words, he has come a long, long way from where he began, thanks to Carri and Jeff. Congratulations, Murphy, on being our January Dog of the Month. Congratulations also to Carri and Jeff for giving Murphy a whole new life! In the dog world, they would call you heroes.
