What is cuter than a Labradoodle? This is another “designer” dog that is not a recognized breed, but is gaining popularity all across the world. It is a breed created by mating a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. The result is a dog with the intelligence and (hopefully) non-shedding qualities of the Poodle, and the people-pleasing and lovable characteristics of the Lab. Our Molly, the August Dog of the Month, is clearly more Poodle-like in appearance. She definitely has the carriage and elegance of a Poodle. She is a real lady who is active, intelligent, squarely built, well proportioned and carefully clipped and groomed like most Poodles. It is difficult to see much of the Labrador in her. Like a Lab, however, Molly is indeed a people pleaser, has a wonderful temperament, and is loyal to her family. She is quite the “talker” in her playgroup. She gossips mostly with Midas (another Doodle). Mom is Mary Jo and Dad is Dan, who spoils her big time! She has been well trained by the parents. Since Dan is retired, he takes frequent fishing trips – which makes Molly happy. Why? That means she gets to come to Central Bark every day and not just on her usual Fridays. While Dan is gone, Molly and Mary Jo get to have those quiet girls’ nights all alone, without male companionship. Molly also enjoys her Spa visits at Central Bark. She is truly a female! Molly sports a pink Harley Davidson collar…and you might wonder why. Mild-mannered Dan is a Harley rider! Please congratulate Molly – and her parents, Dan and Mary Jo – because Molly is our August Dog of the Month.
Congrats, Molly D!
