Congrats, Eleanor!

Our July Dog of the Month is the lovely Eleanor. Eleanor, on the right, is pictured with her Yellow Lab friend, Sydney. Ellie, as she is known to her friends, joined the Central Bark crew in June 2014. Ellie is a Lab, for all intents and purposes. If there is anything else in her genes, it is not apparent!
As a puppy, Ellie took to day care like it was created especially for her. She loves to play, loves to be pampered and cuddled by the handlers, loves the pool, and really loves her nap time food and treats. There is nothing about day care that Ellie doesn’t love. She was made for day care and day care was made for her.
Ellie’s parents (Pat and Dan) are very busy “empty-nesters” since their only daughter is now attending the University of Michigan. She completed her freshman year and studied in Germany this spring. They also have two sons; one at Brigham Young University in Utah and the other living in Chicago.
When Pat and Dan are out-of-town, Ellie is not depressed. The only thing she likes better than day care at Central Bark is a sleepover at Central Bark! She arrives with her navy and gold Michigan blanket and (Ohio fans) she also brings along her Cleveland Brown’s blanket! (Sadly, no Ohio State paraphernalia.)
While she is delighted to be at Central Bark for any reason, she still loves snuggling with “Mom” after a busy day of being physically lively and uninhibited.
Ellie encompasses all the wonderful attributes of a Labrador Retriever. She is friendly, affectionate, has a terrific temperament, those soulful eyes that melt your heart, and intelligence. Labs are known for their strongly built body, their character and quality that makes them a winner in the show ring, their short, dense, weather-resistant coat, and ability to function as a retrieving gun dog.
Join us as we celebrate Ellie, the July Dog of the Month! Be sure to congratulate Ellie’s humans, Pat and Dan, when you see them!
