TWO DOGS OF THE MONTH ARE SUPER SIBLINGS! This month we are doing something we have rarely done before, featured two dogs together as Dogs of the Month! That’s because these siblings can be found having fun at Central Bark! These two Golden Retrievers are brother and sister, Hunter and Cali. Hunter was one of our first grooming clients in February 2009. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Day Care play group. Hunter lives up to his name; he will retrieve and retrieve all day long, every day. He was quite content doing this until his bossy little sister, Cali, joined the group a year later. It became very apparent that if Hunter was going to enjoy his Day Care experience to the max, Cali needed to be placed into the other play group! It seems all Cali did was follow Hunter around and hang off his neck. On her own, Cali blossomed into a real party girl. She loves the slide, monopolizes the pool, and plays with all dogs – the bigger the better. Both Hunter and Cali graduated from Central Bark’s training classes. Cali excelled at training, even though nearly every family member took turns bringing her to class, including “Dad” Brian. Hunter always did well at “school” and he breezed through his Canine Good Citizen class with Mom, Cathy, on the end of his leash. Hunter is a bit of a counter surfer and loves to snag a sandwich now and then – or a steak or two when no one is looking. The Golden Retriever originated in the Scottish Highlands in the late 1800’s and was used predominantly for hunting. The Golden Retriever, with its intelligence and eager-to-please attitude, is one of the most popular breeds in the United States according to AKC® registration statistics. Their working ability has made the Golden Retriever a useful hunting companion, an ideal guide dog, a beloved assistance dog, and a valuable search and rescue dog. Their golden-colored coat is a trademark of this versatile breed, and can range from light to dark gold., even red. Hunter and Cali, with their sparkling personalities and innate intelligence would excel at any of these “jobs.” However, what they do best is be loving companions in a family that really loves them! Congratulations to Hunter and Cali, our special siblings, who are our “Dogs of the Month.”
Congrats, Cali & Hunter!
