Congrats, Brooklyn!

Our September Dog of the Month is not a Portuguese Water Dog, a Labrador Retriever, an Irish Water Spaniel, nor a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. By looking at this picture, you might think Brooklyn is a water-loving, dunking and diving dog that was bred to spend his days reveling and cavorting in the water. You would be wrong. Brooklyn is a Siberian Husky. Siberia is not known for its water parks and terrific weather! We do believe that Brooklyn must suffer from an identity crisis and just doesn’t know that he is not one of the water babies mentioned above! Brooklyn loves the water in the pool, the water coming out of a hose, the water in his bowl, and just wants to be in or around water all the time. Other than that, he does display all the normal characteristics of a beautiful Siberian Husky. This breed comes from Northeast Asia where they were sled dogs, known for their amazing endurance and outgoing, wonderful temperament. Brooklyn has inherited all this energy and is the last one playing when the day ends. Our Brooklyn has an older “brother” named Benny and Benny just doesn’t like to play and socialize (silly dog) so that is why Brooklyn comes to Central Bark Day Care! We have heard (and I am not saying that this came from Brooklyn) that Benny is a bit of a snob because he is an American Kennel Club Bearded Collie Champion! We are delighted that Brooklyn comes to Day Care to play and socialize and just have a terrific time with all his buddies here. That is why Brooklyn is the September Dog of the Month! Way to go, Brookie!
