Our Dog of The Month, Chi Chi, is not fooling around. He is a serious senior Chihuahua who likes his routine. But, two things never fail to bring out his softer side. First, sunshine will always find this gentleman basking in the rays. Second is Chi Chi’s best girl, Annie. On the days when Annie is here, it is as if the sunshine has doubled! Chi Chi forgets any troubles and follows her around most of the day.
The other bond is between Chi Chi and the team here at Central Bark. The love is mutual. We have a dozen names for Chi Chi including Cheech, Cheechers, and The Cheechster. When Annie’s not around and Cheech feels a little blue, the team can often be seen holding him and administering doses of extra attention.
Chi Chi has been a regular at Central Bark for the past five years joining us for day care, sleepovers, and grooming. Despite having no teeth, he thoroughly enjoys crunchy treats often given to him at pickup with his mom, Suzanne’s, permission.
Chihuahua’s are a famous long-living breed. They can live up to twenty years. Famous Chihuahuas include the “Yo Quiero Taco Bell” dog, Bruiser from Legally Blonde, and Ren from “The Ren & Stimpy Show”. But, we’ll stick with our favorite Chihuahua, our April Dog of The Month, Chi Chi!
