About Central Bark West Columbia

Hi, I’m Tanya, the owner of Central Bark West Columbia. I became the owner in August 2025 after more than 15 years of running my own businesses. I’ve always loved the challenge of building something special, but Central Bark gave me the chance to do that while spending my days surrounded by dogs—which is difficult to beat.

I’m also the mom of a teenage daughter and two miniature dachshunds, Opal and Carl, who have very big personalities packed into very small bodies. Being a dog mom myself, I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. They aren’t “just dogs.” They’re family, and every one of them has their own personality, preferences, quirks, and needs.

That understanding shapes the way I approach everything we do at Central Bark. I want each dog to receive care that feels personal, whether that means learning what makes them feel comfortable, planning an enrichment activity they’ll love, or celebrating their birthday in a way that makes their family smile. One of my favorite parts of owning Central Bark is finding new ways to make the dogs’ time with us genuinely fun while giving their families confidence that they are safe, understood, and loved.

My goal is for Central Bark West Columbia to be more than a place where people drop off their dogs. I want it to feel like a community—and like an extended family for every dog and person who walks through our doors.

“I want every family to feel that we know and love their dog—not just as a client, but as part of our Central Bark family.”
