Because dogs aren’t like family. They are family.
Our furry family members fill our lives with joy, and we want to give them the best experience in return. That’s why we offer everything you need (and more) for each phase of your pup’s life, so you and your dog can enjoy a long, healthy, and happy life together.
Every visit, Oreo gets excited to see Kiki for her bath, nails, and even the occasional pop of color on her tail or paws. She has separation anxiety and shakes a bit at handoff, but calms right down once she’s in Kiki’s arms. The whole staff has fallen in love with Oreo—you can tell they truly care about the pets they work with. Now that Oreo’s fully my responsibility, their consistency and love have been a huge help—they’re really a bright spot for Oreo and our family.

The timeline for learning new behaviors and skills is as unique as every dog! Because each dog is an individual, with different learning histories, breed genetics, and preferences in reinforcers like treats and toys, there is no way to say for sure how long training will take. It’s also important to consider how much time each family has for daily training practice.
Whether you’re crate training, leash walking, or potty training your pup, consistency is key. It’s crucial to establish a routine, practice positive reinforcement, supervise your puppy (especially when potty training), and avoid punishing your puppy when mistakes happen.
Central Bark® offers everything you need to help you train your dog, with expert training and classes so you and your pup can learn and bond together.

An essential characteristic of a dog groomer is someone who makes you and your dog feel safe and comfortable.
Other things to look for:
- Certifications – Groomers don’t need a license or certification to work. Still, these accreditations are often signs that the groomer has the necessary training and experience to care for your pup.
- Experience with different breeds – Look for a groomer with experience with a variety of breeds and coats and the standard haircut for your dog’s breed.
- Preparedness – A groomer should work with dogs of all ages and levels of experience with grooming. They should aim to help each dog feel as comfortable as possible with the grooming process. Suppose the dog or puppy becomes anxious or uncomfortable. In that case, the groomer should be able to suggest a plan for increasing their comfort over time with the use of a positive reward-based approach.
