Meet March’s Dog of the Month, The Sensational Showpiece! Affectionately known as “Pieces”, this Greyhound is true to the breeds’ moniker, “A 45 MPH Couch Potato”. When he is first let out into playgroup, Showpiece runs laps at top speed, barks with excitement, and encourages the other dogs to join in his playful romp. But after awhile Showpiece is- you guessed it-ready for a nap. His days of racing are over and he really does enjoy a good snooze in the afternoon sun. Showpiece slowly stretches out those long legs of his, gently lays his head down, closes his eyes and sighs-he can’t believe what a lucky dog he is. Adopted from Greyhound Pets of America-Wisconsin, Showpiece is now almost almost 8 years old and living the dream-long walks, special collars, warm coats, Doggy Day Care and a Mom who dotes on him constantly. Life at the racetrack is but a distant memory. Now he can be found racing for fun with any one of his numerous pals; Wilbur, Marco, Lucy, Lemon, Molly, Karlee, Wolf, Hal, Chloe or Kase. He’s happy to play with just about anybody as long as he gets to run. You can take the Greyhound out of the race but you can’t take the race out of the Greyhound! We love you Pieces-Congratulations!
