The Call of The Beagle. Once you hear it, you will never forget it. The breed has 3 distinct vocalizations: “the bark”, loud and booming,” the howl”, a long, drawn out, haunting “song” and “the bay”, loud and throaty; a cross somewhere between the bark and the howl. Chloe has used all of these on various occasions. This stylish Beagle-that’s right, she has a wardrobe we are all envious of-struts in on Friday mornings like she owns the place. It’s a quick good-bye to her parents and off she goes looking for excitement. Pulling us toward the playgroup and occasionally looking back to see why we aren’t running as fast as she is, she just can’t contain herself. She lets out her famous Battle Cry. Aroooooooooooo! This popular gal doesn’t have any trouble making friends, but some of her best buddies include Bella, Jovi, Arliss and Moose(a fellow Beagle). We have noticed however, that her true love seems to be Charlie. Once they get going, it hard to slow them down. After a long wrestle session, Chloe uses one of her many “voices” to entice Charlie into a game of chase-and it ALWAYS works. Around the playgroup they fly until one gets too tired and the game comes to a halt. But just like that, they are off and running again, Chloe’s ears flapping in the wind behind her as she bellows out her “Beagle Siren”. As the song goes, “Girls just wanna have fun!” We think it must have been written about her…
