Our Dog of the Month for February: Dempsey, a seven-year-old Golden Retriever, is the definition of a big, loveable goofball and he has a heart just as big as his paws! This sensitive sweetheart might not have an awareness of his own size, but that doesn’t stop him from immediately inserting himself right between the legs of whichever handler or staff member he’s lucky enough to be with. Once he’s settled in, Dempsey is all about cuddles, pets, and gentle praise he soaks it all up like the happy boy he is. While he loves playtime with the other dogs, Dempsey also has a flair for the dramatics. Anytime he get excited, he whines loudly and shakes his entire body with pure joy a sight that never fails to make everyone smile. He’s also a natural ham in front of the camera, loving every moment of photo time and flashing that classic Golden Retriever charm. Despite being seven, his energy, enthusiasm, and happiness are timeless you’d never guess his age by his playful spirit. Dempsey’s big feelings, boundless happiness, and affectionate personality make him a joy to have around. He truly has a way of making everyone feel loved and welcome, whether he’s cuddling up close or lighting up the room with his excitement.
