Congratulations Rookie, January Dog of the Month!
Rookie is an 8 year old Rottweiler mix who has been coming to the Bark since Jan 2014.
As you have all noticed, Rookie has only 3 legs. Although he was in an abusive situation, he is very lucky to have been rescued and adopted by his wonderful forever family, where he has been thriving for years. Rookie never wanted to let his lack of a leg slow him down any. In fact, he may have overcompensated a bit in the beginning, and came on a little too strong when he wanted to play. It’s been fun watching Rookie over the last several months as he has learned how to play and has made friends with the other dogs. Now he plays with everyone. He sometimes likes to pretend he’s a tough guy but we all know he’s just a softie. In fact, Rookie will even try to play with our smaller pups. We are so happy that Rookie feels so comfortable at the Bark because we wouldn’t be the same without him. Congratulations Rookie!
