Dr. Mondrian Contreras, a UF College of Veterinary Medicine graduate (2010), leads Central Bark Carol Stream with a strong commitment to education, community service, and animal welfare. After his internship at VCA Aurora / Berwyn Animal Hospital, he joined Carol Stream Animal Hospital, became owner in 2015, and expanded to owning Central Bark Carol Stream in 2023. He is active in AVMA, ISVMA, CVMA, Junior Achievement, and serves on the advisory board for Pumpkin Pet Insurance. Dr. Contreras also writes on animal health for major outlets and authors children’s books, including Incredible Life of Dory and Bubba’s Bad Breath.
Outside the clinic, franchise owner Dr.Contreras founded the VetBros Pet Education Charitable Fund (a 501(c)(3)) to provide education and financial assistance for veterinary care. Mondrian and his family — wife Bridget, sons Matisse, Thomas, Khalil, daughter, Aurelia, and their dog Leia — are University of Illinois football fans who love cheering at Fighting Illini events.
