We decided to start the New Year off by bestowing January’s Dog of the Month on a dog who received a new “leash” on life. Timmy’s life hasn’t always been filled with daycare, warm coats and a loving home. And his life probably didn’t begin like most puppies. Before Timmy found his forever home with his new mom, and even before he found himself in a rescue group, Timmy lived in a “puppy mill”. Used as a breeding dog, Timmy didn’t know what it was like to be cuddled, how it felt to run like the wind on a warm summer’s day or what it meant to be loved. Every day life must have been pretty dull. Little did Timmy know, that his life was about to get a whole lot better. Once adopted, Mom enrolled him in daycare to help him acclimate to his new life and get to work on the social skills that he was deprived of as a puppy. While initially shy with both people and dogs, Timmy’s confidence grew more and more. Slowly, he began to see that life wasn’t really that scary after all. Fast forward to present day; Timmy is quite the socialite. He will play with any dog big or small. He’ll go right up to them and wiggle his little body in all its’ glory to entice his friends into a wrestle match. Timmy has overcome a lot of obstacles in his life and grown into the fine young man we know today. We are privileged that he allowed us to be a part of his journey. Timmy, we are honored to dub you “Central Barks’ January Dog of the Month!”
Congrats, Timmy!
