Congratulations to our August 2013 dog of the month Oliver! He is a 2 1/2 year old male French bulldog. Oliver joined the Central Bark Northside pack last September when his family made the move from California. What a great gain for us! Anyone seeing him in the daily pictures knows he’s happy to be here. Oliver is a man with many faces. You never know what expression his grin & ears are going to show. He is one of the happiest dogs, and wears it well. Oliver always lets you know he’s happy to see you too! First thing in the door every morning, he’s grinning and wiggling with excitement barely able to wait for all of his favorite handlers to give him some pets & scratches behind the ears. This is usually followed by his signature head spin move! Multi-faceted is a good way to think of Oliver; he can be relaxed, exceptionally playful, goofy, cuddly, tolerant, caring and affectionate. He is perceptive to the other dog’s moods a s well, he will go right up and sit next to a dog that’s having an off day and hang out with them. We’ve never seen him get upset with another dog either. He is very patient with new dogs as well as the playful puppies that can sometimes be a little over-the-top excited. Oliver has friends of all sizes and breeds, Boston Terriers all the way up to Huskies and German Shepherds. Some of his best friends include Rosy, Rudy, Dory, Jackson, Gromit, Jett, Willa Rae, and Abby, though there are many more! In between his roly-poly play sessions he likes to nap next to his buddy Skooter or keep guard with his buddy Dash! Oliver also lets the handlers know when he needs a little TLC by jumping up on the play equipment and wiggling his body while grinning ear to ear. He’s not shy to ask for attention! Oliver is famous for his snorts and grunts while he’s playing and getting pets as well as his unceasing kisses. Just as excited as he is to get here, he is to head home as well. We joke about how long it will take to get his little harness on in between all of his kisses and animated wiggling because he is so thrilled to run out to his parents! His grin puts a grin on all of our faces. For those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him, you should take a look through the pictures to see the many faces of Oliver. You’ll soon understand why this guy is dog of the month.
