Central Bark Downtown would like to introduce you to one of the kings of our pack: the Mighty Hogan! Tall and lanky, some may say he moonlights as the Wile E. Coyote, or Big Bad Wolf from Red Riding Hood as he so famously depicted during our Halloween costume contest this year. But, the staff at Downtown knows his true and favorite pastime: instigating the best games of chase and tag with the handlers in his group! Just when you least expect it, Hogan loves to gain your attention by a nudge on your back or a tug at your hand. When you ask him, “What?” he, “Arr roo roo roo’s” back at you; his regular ole’ command of: “Hey, let’s go and play! You aren’t busy enough!” It’s hard to not oblige him, as he always happens to have a big, goofy grin on his face and the best play bow around. After several laps around group, Hogan sticks to your side, acting as your shadow and master overseer of the dogs until the ga me of chase with the handler starts again, or one of his canine buddies rile him up for a good wrestle on the turf. Big or small, Hogan plays well with all kinds of dogs, though a special place in his heart belongs to all Mastiffs—his absolute favorite. This big guy can be a bit sneaky, especially when coming inside for naptime. If Hogan smells food or a treat, you can bet your dog bones that he is trying to swipe some for himself. Our favorite is when he helps himself to the birthday treats on the front counter at the end of the night. His act of innocent sniffing often has us fooled, until he opens his big chompers and tries to gulp down as many treats as possible before mom can pull him away. Free spirited, with a mind of his own, and always making us laugh, there is a reason why Hogan is a dog that we greatly look forward to seeing every week. We love this handsome devil to death, and are so happy to be able to spend time with him! Congratulations, Hogan! You are Central Bark Downtown’s January 2013 Dog of the Month!
Congrats, Hogan!
