We’re celebrating our nations’ independence this month, so we thought it fitting to honor one of the most independent dogs we knew. Meet the amazing Merv! This furry little “Ewok” came into our lives in early 2012 and never looked back! Scurrying in here every Tuesday and Friday morning, Merv rolls over for a quick belly rub, then jumps up and begins pumping his little legs as he runs for the outdoors. On the way out to playgroup, we take off his leash and he runs right to his gate-sometimes he runs a little too fast, and doesn’t put on the brakes quite soon enough! Ooops! Active and curious, Merv is a playful little guy that loves life, people and other dogs, and is always ready to greet the day with a fantastic smile on his face. A Brussels Griffon, his breed is described as intelligent, lively and obedient; we would have to agree. But we’d like to add that we think he’s also handsome, adorable and an absolute gentleman! Merv shares the patriotic feelings we all do around this time, and we know he’ll enjoy spending this holiday with family, friends and good eats. Congratulations, Merv. We are proud to honor you with July’s prestigious title of Dog of the Month!
