A 5-year old Black Lab Mix, she’s your typical “I-want-to-be-everybody’s-friend, kind of Lab. You can’t go wrong there! Since 2008, Maizee has been bringing her happy self to day care with a smile on her face, in turn, making us smile. We though it only fitting for Pet Dental Health Month to pick her as February’s “Top Dog”since she loves to show off her pearly white teeth. So, what makes Labrador Retrievers great pets, you may ask? Well, they are a devoted, obedient and amiable breed, good with children, other dogs and other pets. They can be a calm house dog, playful yard dog and intense field dog, all in one. Eager to please, they enjoy learning and excel in obedience. Labs are a breed that love to swim and retrieve and need daily physical and mental challenges to keep it occupied; but as most Lab parents can tell you, a bored Lab can still get into trouble. So has Maizee even gotten €  œbored?” We tried to ask her, but she wasn’t talking. So we asked her parents instead. It turns out that Maizee has been a good girl since day one. Her parents cannot believe their luck! Maybe it’s the mix in her heritage, but one thing’s for sure, trouble or not, we’d love Maizee no matter what. How could you not? Look at that face! Congratulations, Maizee, you are Central Bark Downtown’s February Dog of the Month!  h. So, what makes Labrador Retrievers great pets, you may ask?
