Meet the trainer

Hi! My name is Jane Arends and I have been working at Central Bark- Sussex since January of 2016. Not only am I a shuttle driver and dog handler for Central Bark Doggy Day Care but, I am also an experienced dog trainer. My journey to become a dog professional began in 2013 while volunteering for the local Humane Animal Welfare Society as a dog walker later progressing to a member of the Mod Squad (offering 1:1 canine behavior training), training assistant and instructor for HAWS’ Basic Manners class.

I also graduated from Animal Behavior College in 2013 as a Certified Dog Trainer. Training clients and their dogs is very rewarding for me. I especially love to see owners expand their dog knowledge and further enhance their bond with their furry family member(s). The excitement you feel when your dog masters a cue is like no other! I am so excited to help Central Bark – Sussex launch this new program and offerings to our current clients and local community. Our training regimen will focus on teaching pet parents the importance of dog language and opportunities to communicate through body language and positive reinforcement. Not only to mold our pets into well behaved, polite dogs, but to take pleasure and create playfulness in the process.

I live in Milwaukee with my fiancé, and I’m the proud mother of 3 beautiful grown children, 4 amazing grandchildren and 3 four-legged soulmates of my own.

I look forward to spending time with you and your pups!
