About Central Bark Manitowoc

Erik became a customer while deciding to purchase the store and loved it so much he did just that! Erik, recently retired from a 20-year career in the telecommunications industry where he worked in a variety of areas ranging from monitoring and dispatching analog and digital circuit troubles, to dispatch center management and finally technology system design, development and maintenance. Prior to this, he was a small business manager in a variety of industries, from oil change and car wash to fast food, and, even a Halloween store. Erik lives with his wife, Doris, and their 4 fur-kids, Madigan, an 8-year-old Toy Fox Terrier; a 6-year-old Catahoula mix, Judith; and their two Basenjis, 5-year-old Jasper and Lillian who is almost 3. Their dogs have always been an important part of their lives and give back as Basenji Rescue and Transport (BRaT) volunteers and are four-time past adopters. As a dog parent, Erik understands and appreciates the trust customers place in him to care for their fur-babies.

I have been working at Central Bark in Manitowoc since March of 2018. A little bit about myself, I am 24 years old and I have 5 dogs! A German Shepherd Mix (Zara), 2 Boxer/Pitbull Mixes (Jax & Kona), and 2 Miniature Dachshunds (Odin & Rigby). In addition to that I also have 3 cats, an iguana, and a bearded dragon. I consider myself an animal lover! My world pretty much revolves around dogs, here at Central Bark and at home as well! Before working here, I worked at several different dairy farms, and I also spent some time working in a gym. Coming into this job I was extremely excited because it has always been my dream to work with animals and while working here, I really found out that dogs are my true calling. I have been blessed to work under some amazing people that mentored me and taught me just about everything I need to know to succeed in this type of environment, though I find myself learning new things almost every single day. I have experienced working with a variety of different breeds, temperaments, and personalities of dogs and though it can be challenging at times, I find that these experiences are far more rewarding than anything else. Working with dogs that are shy or nervous but blossom into social butterflies brings me such joy in life and it is something I am immensely proud to be doing. I love working here because I consider myself a real dog enthusiast and being here working hands-on with all these dogs is something I never would have dreamt of. It is a great honor of mine to be trusted with all our client’s fur-babies, and I always assure everyone that I love their dogs just as much as I love my own! It is my goal to become a dog trainer in the future, and Central Bark has really helped me get a jump-start into that career path which I will always be grateful for. Overall, I absolutely adore working here and at the end of every day I leave feeling like I made a real difference in these dogs lives and it brings me such happiness!

Assistant Manager

Hello everybody, it is a pleasure to meet you! I have been working at Central Bark in Manitowoc since January of 2019. A little bit about me, I am 25 years old. I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Go Badgers! I finished my schooling with degrees in Biology/Zoology with an emphasis on Conservation Biology and a certificate in Environmental Studies. I have been fascinated with maintaining the well-being of all animals, making sure they have a place to call home. With this passion, it has led me to a place where I can make sure every dog has a smile on their face and a place to call their home away from home: Central Bark Manitowoc. Working here at Central Bark has taught me many things on understanding dogs breeds, behavior, temperament, and personality while using this knowledge to help with finding the right fit of play for our furry friends. Each and every day I feel rewarded as I am able to learn something new about our dogs here at daycare. Being able to take my degrees and what I have learned here at Central Bark to help make a difference on helping dogs grow socially is a pleasure in itself! I am so thankful to be trusted with so many of our clients kiddos each and every day. This feeling of making a difference is like no other and it is the reason as to why I am proud to say that I work at Central Bark Doggy Daycare! Not many people are able to have this experience on a daily basis and I get to every single day!
