Jamey Devine
Store Manager
Jamey always had a passion for animals and grew up hoping one day to have a career surrounded by dogs. When she graduated from UW Madison, she pursued her love for animals by moving to Vietnam and volunteering at Paws for Compassion. Jamey helped rescue and rehabilitate street dogs, and spread awareness of the dog meat trade. In 2020, she returned to Madison with one of the street pups she rescued, and immediately continued working with dogs as a handler at Central Bark. Jamey’s dedication to the daycare dogs and eagerness to learn led her to a promotion to Assistant Manager, and now to Store Manager. In her free time, Jamey loves to draw, hike, camp, and go on adventures with her two dogs – Scout and Ice Bear!
Ja-ae
Assistant General Manager
Ja-ae has had a love for dogs since she was a child. Her passion grew when she started working at Central Bark in 2017 as a Dog Handler. Ja-ae was able to earn her bachelor’s degree in Sociology while she worked part-time handling dogs. Ja-aes leadership skills and strong problem-solving abilities got her promoted to Assistant Manager, which ultimately led her decision to get a Small Business Entrepreneurship Degree. After she graduated, she continued to move her way up and became the Central Bark Madison Southeast Store Manager and now Assistant General Manager. Ja-ae has two dogs of her own, Blue and Moose who she loves to bring to work and take on hikes on the weekend. She loves all the dogs and has found her dream job!
Sarah
Assistant Manager
Sarah started at Central Bark in November of 2021 as dog handler and quickly moved up and is now the assistant manager. Her favorite part of her job is snuggling dogs, teaching them new things, and watching new dogs come out of their shell. Sarah has always had a passion for animals, dog training, and rescue. She rescued her dog Lenny for a shelter in New Hampshire in 2019, right after graduating college and then her cat Noel in 2020. Sarah is a foster for Fetch WI Rescue and has fostered 6 dogs, with potentially more to come. She loves all her furry friends but has an extra sweet spot for those rescue pups, especially pitties. Outside of work Sarahs favorite things to do are play sports, see live music, enjoy the outdoors with Lenny, and making things such as building stuff, sewing, and baking

Frequently Asked Questions
Dogs nap quietly in their crates in the Nap Room, complete with classical music and aromatherapy.
There’s no bond like the one between our furry best friends and us. We love our dogs and want to give them the best life possible. But it can be challenging to fulfill all their needs to stay healthy and happy for a lifetime. Doggy day care gives pups a place to play and learn in a safe environment, with the socialization, mental stimulation, and physical exercise their minds and bodies need to stay healthy for a lifetime.
- Dogs get to socialize. Dogs are social creatures. Positive experiences with new humans, new dogs, and new environments are essential to a well-rounded pup.
- Dogs learn social skills. Dogs learn from other dogs – they’re always teaching each other what is (and isn’t) appropriate social behavior. Doggy day care staff can also help support safe play and practice healthy social behaviors.
- Dogs get more exercise. Exercise helps your dog maintain a healthy weight and muscle tone while improving their mood and providing a healthy outlet for their physical and mental energy, meaning they can be more relaxed at home.
- Dogs get human attention. Your dog will get the care and love they need while you’re at work or school.
- Parents get a break. Doggy day care can give you a day off from responsibilities, while your dog gets what they need to be a healthier, more well-adjusted pet.
