FREE Puppy Hour!
in Jacksonville

Start your pup on the right paw

At Central Bark, our mission is to nurture and enhance the lives of dogs, and what better way to achieve this than through puppy socialization? Positive interactions with new dogs, humans, and environments are vital for a puppy’s healthy social development.

These early experiences contribute to your dog’s comfort, confidence, and long-term emotional growth, laying a solid foundation for a healthy, joyful, and socially adept canine companion.

Puppy Hour is a complimentary play and socialization hour for puppies, conducted within our secure and supervised Central Bark facility. You and your puppy are welcome to join as many sessions as you’d like until your pup reaches the age limit. Please ensure you provide proof from your vet that your puppy is current on their Bordetella and DHPP vaccines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I join my dog in the training sessions?

While the Training Tutor, One-on-One Enrichment, and Rest Period Enrichment services are provided by our staff during your dog’s day care visit, Central Bark Fort Lauderdale also partners with Sue of We Love Dogs! to host group training classes. These classes are designed to help you and your dog refine skills together in a supportive environment. You can call the provided number to learn more about class schedules.

How does Central Bark mentally stimulate a dog?

At Central Bark®, our goal is to provide a balanced day of play, learning, rest, and love. Learning and mental exercise can happen in various ways, including training activities, brain games, scent work, and more. Our playgroups offer several hours of active playtime paired with learning opportunities during Group Play Skills. This way, dogs have plenty of time to socialize and get their energy out, while also exercising their minds through learning.

During one of your dog’s rest periods throughout the day, they are offered a rest period enrichment activity to stimulate their mind while encouraging healthy rest. These licking and chewing activities involve food rewards, such as frozen peanut butter KONG®. These activities engage their minds while helping foster quality rest.

Did you know? Scientific studies have shown that licking and chewing behaviors (especially those that involve food rewards!) are self-soothing, decrease heart and respiratory rates, and even release dopamine in a dog’s brain.

Training Tutor sessions stimulate the dog’s minds and bodies and help them learn important skills, behaviors, and tricks.

One-on-One Enrichment sessions give the extra attention dogs love and the freedom to use their senses and safely explore their instincts through interactive toys, puzzles, and games.

Did you know? 15 minutes of mental activity is equal to 30 minutes of physical exercise!

How do you train a puppy?

Whether you’re crate training, leash walking, or potty training your pup, consistency is key. It’s crucial to establish a routine, practice positive reinforcement, supervise your puppy (especially when potty training), and avoid punishing your puppy when mistakes happen.

Central Bark® offers everything you need to help you train your puppy. We offer expert training and classes so you and your puppy can learn and bond together.

How does Central Bark proactively address safety?

At Central Bark a proactive approach to safety is woven right into the fabric of our program. That is why we require that all dogs enrolled in our Day Care program pass our behavior assessment and attend at least once per week. This helps us ensure that dogs are social with other dogs & people and remain comfortable with all aspects of our program.  It also allows us to proactively staff so we can keep a dog to staff ratios low which also helps increase safety. Plus, play is ALWAYS monitored. Whether it’s a group of 2 dogs or 12 dogs, we never leave dogs unattended during group play.
