Murphy…In Loving Memory 2001 to 2010
It is with sorrow that we say goodbye to our pack leader Murphy. She came to live with Dawn and Geno after the passing of Geno’s father in 2002. During her time with us, Murphy accomplished many great things. Murphy was certified as a therapy dog through Pets Helping People. She and her soul mate Buddy spent countless hours with the moms and kids in the emergency shelter at The Women’s Center.
Murphy also helped us when we first started this business. She was a calm and confident pack leader and did a great job helping many new dogs to feel welcome and comfortable while at day care. In fact, Murphy was quite the noble “yard cop” while in play group. She helped teach other dogs the meaning of proper behavior.
Murphy adored her family. In addition to her best friend Buddy, she also leaves behind our cat Frosty and our other dog B.G. It was amazing how close these four became in the last few years.
Murphy also enjoyed her regular visits with her real mom, Geno’s mom, at the Alzheimer’s assisted Living facility where mom lives. She always knew when we were going to visit her mom and was excited as a puppy when she got to spend time with her. Mom was always so proud to have her friends and neighbors spoil Murphy with affection. Mom may not remember our names anymore, but she never forgot that “the big fella” was her dog. Murphy always brought a warm smile to mom’s face.
Murphy also helped us to foster and re-home over 35 dogs over the last four years. Her confident leadership helped to show the foster dogs they were loved and that they had a place in this world. Her legacy will continue long after she is gone.
Thank you for sharing your life with us big girl. Our sadness of your loss will subside, but our wonderful memories of you will be with us forever. God Bless you Murphy. You truly are a saint.
