Joe and Cyndi
Owners
Joe and Cyndi have been owned by animals all their lives. From dogs and cats to guinea pigs and rabbits, animals have always been an important part of their family. In the early years, while Joe was working hard to provide for the family, Cyndi spent several years pursuing a zoology degree and was also able to complete a summer internship as an Animal Care Specialist at the Racine Zoo.
Over time, Joe and Cyndi also saw the tremendous amount of homeless animals that needed help and became involved with several rescue groups. They’ve driven numerous dogs and cats on rescue transports and provided a foster home for many homeless animals that needed a warm bed and lots of love.
Finally, after nearly two decades of flying around the country as a pilot and flight attendant, Joe & Cyndi decided to keep their feet on the ground and open a business that followed their hearts! Once they took a Central Bark tour, they knew they found their calling. And that is how Central Bark Doggy Day Care Gurnee came to be.
Each day at Central Bark Gurnee, Joe & Cyndi are joined by their dogs Charm, Butch, Dewey and Gizmo and with Cyndi’s parents, Court and Ginny. And we can’t forget to mention their little cat Harley, who was rescued from an interstate median on the way to work in June. It truly is a family affair!

Q: How are the new dog introductions handled?
A: During your dog's behavior assessment we will determine the rate at which your dog is ready for group play. Only when we and the dog are comfortable will group play begin.
