Owners

Chicagoland natives Laura and Kevin have always dreamed of leaving corporate America and opening up a dog day care business. Central Bark® helped make that dream come true. Laura is a Columbia College graduate and has been fine-tuning her creative abilities with Crate & Barrel for the last seven years. Kevin, a UW-Madison graduate, has been crunching numbers in the financial industry, most recently with LaSalle. Laura's and Kevin's love for dogs, along with their "ani-pals", make Central Bark® in Grayslake a wonderful place to bring your dogs to play.

Dog of the Month!

Congrats, Eddie!

Grayslake, IL Dog of the Month!

Meet Eddie, also know as “Eddie Z” (yes, like the blinds company)! Eddie is an adorable shitzu mix who has been coming to Central Bark since September 2010. Back then, Eddie was just a seven month old puppy and we have had the honor to watch him grow into a social and confident little man. During the summer months Eddie likes to park himself on top of the slide, soak in the sun and monitor the group’s action below. When he’s ready for some fun, he’ll run down the slide, mix it up with his pals, take a swig of water and head back to his perch. During the winter months, there is no stopping this boy. He will run around and wrestle all day long if he could! His best friends include Wilson, Rue Bea, Pepper and his love interest Morgan. At one point, we noticed Eddie was acting somewhat “off” from his usual behavior; being a little quiet and more reserved. After talking with his parents, we realized that Eddie’s mom was in her early stages of pregnancy. Being the sensitive and intelligent boy that he is, Eddie realized something was going on but couldn’t quite put his “paw” on it. Fortunately, the phase was brief and he was acting like his old happy self in no time. Eddie is now the proud big brother of his new two legged sister! Eddie will be turning two on February 10 and we are very happy to honor this lovable little boy the title of Mr. February! Extra kisses for you Eddie…you deserve them all!
