Our Dog of the Month

Congratulations Luna!
Luna is an exotic one year old beauty imported (with her mommy) from Columbia. She is fluent in English, Spanish and even German, having taken obedience classes in Columbia from a German instructor.

Luna's first day in this world was a special one – her (human) mother helped deliver the puppies and as a reward, Luna came to American with her.

Luna gets along with pretty much everyone – human, canine and feline - at Central Bark and enjoys her days by keeping our puppies in line and chasing Dakota and Buddy around. In the afternoons, if there's a sunny spot, you can be sure she and fellow Beagle Jezebel will be side by side basking in it.

Meet the pack leader.

Portia (with Yumi and LeelooDallas)
Owner

Portia left the hectic world of internet marketing to join the Central Bark™ pack in 2006. From her pre-school days helping her next door neighbor - a Siberian husky breeder - to training with an Olympic equestrian trainer in her teens, Portia has been involved with large and small animals for her entire life. In fact, she reports that she can't remember a time in her life when she didn't have at least one four-legged creature to feed before her dinner!

After surviving the internet bubble burst in 2001, it was only a matter of time before she realized that she needed more than a few pixels on a page to keep her motivated. When she began searching in earnest for a business to help her realize her dreams of working with animals - and dogs in particular - she quickly decided a doggy day care  - and Central Bark™ - was the way to go.

Portia is pictured with her two dogs, Yumi and LeelooDallas. Not in the picture are her two cats, a rotating population of exotic frogs and her husband, Anthony.
