Gabby, Trainer
Welcome Gabby! Like many of the employees at Central Bark, Gabby has a passion for animals and has been working with and studying animals for much of her life. Originally from southern New Hampshire, Gabby recently moved down to southern Louisiana to assist with the oil spill recovery. Her undergraduate degree is in the biology & psychology of animals and her masters degree is in zoology. Gabby's course work includes animal learning, animal cognition, animal physiology, mammalogy, animal behavior, and Ken Ramirez’s Animal Training Course at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Her research focus is marine mammalogy. At Contented Canines in Moline, IL, Gabby helped many dog owners train their dogs and address behavior issues at home. She has also used clicker training to work with abused and neglected horses at Live and Let Live Farm in Chichester, NH. In her free time, Gabby volunteers at the Audubon Aquarium and Zoo. So, start the year off on the right paw!

Puppy Socialization Class:

Did you add a four legged pooch to your family during the Howli-days? Well we have a perfect training class for you, and your pup! The experiences, training, and socialization that your puppy receives over the next six months will help determine his or her reaction and ability to cope with new experiences for the rest of your puppy’s life and yours.

Central Bark Puppy Training and Socialization classes will teach you how to teach your puppy life lessons while exposing them to many experiences that will positively impact their temperament for years to come. 

Additional puppy training topics covered in class include: house training, chewing, and crate training. This class provides exercise, structure, mental stimulation, and socialization which will improve behavior and makes for a happier puppy and parent. Class fee also includes a stylish Outward Hound treat bag and a bag of Zuke's training treats for use in class.

Fee $75.00 for 7 classes. Starting on Thursday, March 1 - Classes will be held at Central Bark New Orleans on Thursday nights at 6:00PM. Classes will last for 7 consecutive weeks. Space is limited to 7 dogs per class so that each pup gets the one-on-one attention that he/she needs from our trainer.

Manners and Foundation Class:

This class reviews and builds on the lessons learned in Puppy Training and Socialization class.  It is a beginner obedience class which will build the foundation from which all future training for more difficult scenarios can be built off of.

In Central Bark’s Manners and Foundation Building class dogs will learn sit, down, stay and come along with how to deal with unwanted behaviors such as barking, jumping up, and pulling on the leash. This class provides structure, mental stimulation, and socialization which improves behavior and makes for a happier dog and parent.

Class fee also includes a stylish Outward Hound treat bag and a bag of Zuke's training treats for use in class. Registratoin Fee is $75.00 for 7 classes. Starting on Thursday, March 1 - Classes will be held at Central Bark New Orleans on Thursday nights at 7:00PM. Classes will last for 7 consecutive weeks. Space is limited to 7 dogs per class so that each pup gets the one-on-one attention that he/she needs from our trainer. 

In a partnership with Doskey Mobile Vet, Dr. Pam Doskey administers vaccinations at Central Bark upon request. $180.00 covers the fee for a yearly exam, yearly Heartworm test, Bordatella vaccination, DHLPP vaccination and the Rabies vaccination, tag & license. Advance reservations are required. Heartworm medication is available at an additional charge.
