Household Manners and Canine Good Citizen Class
$80.00 for 6 sessions
Household Manners and Canine Good Citizen Teach your dog to be well mannered! Does your dog take you for a walk? Does he “resource guard” his food/treats/toys and bones? Does he bark excessively? Does your dog bolt through doors, pull on the leash, embarrass you at the vet's office, and/or jump on people? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then this is the class for you and your unruly dog! The class will teach you leadership exercises and instruct you on how to teach your dog manners and good behavior. The lessons include teaching your dog to sit, down, stay, come when called, greeting people (sit to greet), greeting other dogs and walking nicely on leash. Wouldn’t you love your dog to know these things? This is a six-week course. All family and household members are encouraged to come to this class. The class also works on the ten exercises given in the AKC's Canine Good Citizenship Test and the test is given on the last night of class. Different games are played to reinforce the exercises.

Canine Good Citizen (For dogs over 6 months of age)

Central Bark Canine Good Citizen (CGC) classes teach the CGC requirements, enhancing the bond between you and your dog. The program stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. The official test will be given the last week of class. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
This class is designed for the dog over 6 months of age and has had some basic training. As you teach the CGC skills, you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high quality life. During the last class, the 10 step AKC, CGC test will be performed by an AKC, CGC evaluator.

Beginning/Novice Rally Class

Central Bark is offering a six-week Beginner’s RALLY Class that will provide an excellent introduction to AKC Companion Events. This class is for dogs and handlers who have had no or limited Rally experience. This class will be a fun and comprehensive introduction to Rally. This class will help you train your dog for an exciting dog sport that anyone can learn. If your dog already knows the basic commands; sit, stay, down, heel, etc., then the two of you are ready to learn Rally. A course of turns, halts, and other maneuvers is set up and you and your dog walk it together. It is a time of great bonding for you and your furry friend and also a lot of fun. This is a beginning class, so rally rules and ring procedure is discussed.

Advanced/Excellent Rally Class

The Advance Rally class is for dogs that have completed the Novice Rally class or have earned a Rally title. This 6 week class focuses on learning and executing the AKC Advance and Excellent level exercises as well as working toward off leash work. Class consists of mastering the Advance and Excellent level Rally signs, honing the skills required to perform all the exercises, perfecting execution of the Novice level exercises, working advance level courses, and practicing basic obedience skills required to be successful in Rally. In addition to learning the exercises, we will discuss the rules and scoring in the advance and excellent levels.

Trick Class

Central Bark is offering a TRICK Class that includes basic clicker skills and targeting and your dog will learn a trick or two! (You won't even need to bring a top hat or a rabbit.) The class will be taught by Robin Fargus.
